CGB junior Will Fuson improved on his twelfth place finish at the IHSA Class 1A cross country meet last year by moving up to eleventh place on Saturday, November 9. His time of 15:06.9 was a PR for him and was his fastest time on the course at Detweiler Park in Peoria where the state meet is held and CGB has run on several times. With his eleventh place finish, he also earns All State Honors for cross country.

Look for more impressive times this coming spring as Will competes in track and field. He will be looking to improve on his top ten finishes in the 800 meters (5th) and 1600 meters (6th).

Since Will is a junior we can look forward to his senior year of cross country next fall. This year in his major meets he didn’t post a time over 16 minutes and he is so close with his state time to breaking the barrier of running under 15.

Congratulations to Will on his highly successful 2024 cross country season!!
