Sisk and Plank first team all-LPC in vball

DECATUR – Seniors Kacie Sisk of Arcola and Alayna Plank of Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond were two of the nine players selected to the first team all-Lincoln Prairie Conference volleyball team for the 2024 season.

Plank helped ALAH, coached by Emily Crossman, go 26-11 overall and 10-1 in the LPC, good for second place. Plank,the setter, averaged 8.9 assists per set.

Sisk helped Arcola go 15-12 overall and 6-5 in the 12-team conference, good for sixth place under coach Katy Whisman. Sisk averaged a team-high 4.7 kills per set, was second in aces per set at 0.8, led in blocks per set at 0.6, and was third on the Lady Riders in digs with three per set.

Arcola’s Ava Simpson was on the eight-member second team, while ALAH’s Karaline Vanausdoll was also on the second team.

Named to the five-member honorable mention squad was ALAH’s Savannah Butcher.

Overall there were 12 seniors, five juniors, and four sophomores on first, second or honorable mention. The only player that was a unanimous selection was Unity Christian’s Mallory Harrison. Unity Christian won both the regular season LPC title and the tournament title. As a result they had the most players selected with four.

Two area (Arcola and Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond) Lincoln Prairie Conference teams had one player each that were on the all-conference team in 2023. Sisk was on the first team, while Vanausdoll was on the second team.
