ALAH Knights Stirrett and Tighe Earn All State Football Honors
Stirrett and Tighe Earn All State Honors. Maddix was chosen for the Class 2A All State First Team and Jacob made the Honorable Mention All State Team. Both also made the All State Academic Team which is awarded to athletes that earn first team all conference honors and maintain a 3.5 GPA. This is their second year to receive this honor.

Each year the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association selects members for the football All State teams in each of the eight IHSA classes. Players are nominated by coaches and conferences.
Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond is proud to announce that two of their senior football players have earned this honor.
Maddix Stirrett, standout senior linebacker and running back for the Knights made the Class 2A All State First Team. Defensively Maddix’s stats this season were 136 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 2 pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. On the all time ALAH football record list broke the record for most tackles in a career with 335 surpassing Lucas Otto’s 324. On offense he is tenth on the leading rusher list with 168 carries for 902 yards and scored 18 touchdowns. During this past season he had 70 attempts for 529 yards and 11 touchdowns. Maddix was a first team unanimous pick on the Lincoln Prairie Conference all conference team at linebacker and was an Honorable Mention as a running back.
The other Knight selected for All State recognition was senior offensive and defensive lineman Jacob Tighe who made the Honorable Mention All State Team. This year on defense Jacob had 75 tackles, 7 for loss, 2 sacks, and 1 forced fumble. In his high school career, he ranks seventh in ALAH history (since 2012) in total tackles with 206. Jacob was a unanimous first team all Lincoln Prairie Conference selection for both offensive and defensive line.
