ALAH’s Beau Green Wins Another XC Invite; Girls Team Takes Third Place

Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond continues to impress in his inaugural high school cross country season. The Knights ran in the annual PBL Invite on Saturday, September 13.

Beau topped the field of eighty-nine runners with a time of 16:17.34. Fellow freshman Colton Snyder finished sixth in the race in 17:09.05. The other boys’ competitor was senior Tristan Keagle who ran 20:29.02 to finish in fifty-second place.

The ALAH girls also continue their strong team showing by finishing third in the team standings with 83 points. Downs Tri-Valley was first with 65 and Oakwood took second with 65.

Seniors Ruby Burton, 20:05.34 and Kimberly Krutsinger, 20:19.37 came across the finish line in fourth and fifth respectively.

Freshman Gwen Herring had also had a strong start to her first high school season was eleventh with a time of 221:26.85.

Sophomore Sophia Johnson took seventeenth in 22:27.61. Fellow sophomore Keely Simpson finished the girls scoring running 33:45.64 to finish sixty-ninth. Ruby, Kimberly, and Sophia who had run this course previously all bettered their times from past seasons.

The XC squad will run in the 48th Annual Tuscola XC Classic next Saturday, September 20. The meet is held at Tuscola’s Wimple Park.
