By Mike Monahan

CERRO GORDO – The Cerro Gordo/Bement boys basketball team, coached by Brandon Willard, opened the season going 2-2. The Broncos started with a 55-31 loss to LeRoy on November 24 in their annual Thanksgiving tournament. CGB more than doubled the score on Hartsburg-Emden on Nov. 25 winning 69-34. Due to the forecast of snow on Saturday the games set for that day were moved to Friday. The Broncos faced fellow Lincoln Prairie Conference foe, Argenta-Oreana and won 64-54. The tournament ended for CGB with a 60-39 loss to another LPC member, Unity Christian. In that game the Broncos trailed just 20-15 at halftime, but were outscored 40-24 in the second half.

CGB hosted Tri-City Tuesday in a non-conference game.
