Fourth quarter dooms ALAH girls basketball team

By Mike Monahan

TOLONO – Thursday’s non-conference game for Arthur Lovington Atwood-Hammond looked like it would be the first victory for first-year coach Hannah Morfey and the Knights as they led 28-24 heading into the final quarter against Tolono Unity. However the Rockets outscored ALAH 14-8 to win 38-36.

Annabelle Vanausdoll, a sophomore, led the Knights with 11 points. Free throws were not good for the Knights as they were 3-of-10. They were 14-of-51 from the field, including 5-of-20 (.250) from the free throw line. Sophie Monts led the team in rebounds with nine, while Vanausdoll had three steals. ALAH had 22 turnovers.

The Knights opened Lincoln Prairie Conference play Monday at home against Cumberland.
