Easton Frederick in state all-star Shrine football game

Easton Frederick, a first team all-Lincoln Prairie Conference linebacker and first team Class 2A Illinois High School Football Coaches Association player, received another award. Easton will be in the IHSFCA Shrine all-start game, which includes players from all eight classes. Easton averaged 6.3 tackles per game On offense had carried the ball 81 times for 788 yards and scored 11 touchdowns. Frederick is a 5-9, 170 outside linebacker and will be playing for the Blue team.

“It’s fun when your players get selected to games like this,”said Jefferson. “ It’s a great cause and also a fun experience for the players that play in the game; a lot of them will never put on the helmet again, so it gives them one last time to play a game they love, and more so just have fun; no stress of winning/losing/game-planning. Just go out and play.”

The game is set for June 20 at 11 a.m. at Illinois Wesleyan’s Tucci Stadium. The Blue team has 81 on the roster as does the Red team.

The game benefits the Shriners Hospitals for Children which is one of the largest pediatric sub-speciality health care systems in the World.
