CGB track starts season; Nevius fifth in the 400 for the boys

MT. ZION – The Cerro Gordo/Bement boys and girls track teams have started its season. On March 11 the boys were in the Mt. Zion Indoor Invitational and Quintin Nevius had the best finish by placing fifth in the 400 with a time of 56.41.
Maddie Willard led the girls in the boys and girls Central Illinois High School Invitational at Eastern Illinois on March 6 and 7 with a seventh place in the pole vault at 8-0.
The season for the girls started in the Mt Zion Invitational March 4 with Maggie Petty earning seventh place in the shot put at 27-5 and Willard earning seventh in the pole vault at 8-3.
