Villa Grove boys third in six team track meet; Roberts-McGeehon wins long jump for Arcola

SULLIVAN – The first outdoor meet of the season was March 24 at Sullivan and the Villa Grove boys track team placed third with 86 points in the six team meet won by Sullivan with 198 points. The Arcola boys were sixth with 20 points.
On the girls side Villa Grove earned fourth with 71 in the meet won by Teutopolis with 133 points. Arcola was fifth with 24 points.
Ema Simpson was the lone winner for the Lady Riders as she won the 400 with a time of 1:09.81, just .12 ahead of second place Evalina Kinkade of Villa Grove.
Baylee Martin won the long jump (17-2) and Evalice Callison (5-4) the high jump for Villa Grove.
On the boys side Remi Roberts-McGeehon won the long jump (19-3) while the Blue Devils Miles Swigert was their only winner taking first in the 400 with a time of 54.22.
