Gayle Marie Mick

Gayle Marie Mick, 90, of Plantation, FL, formerly of Tuscola, IL passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2026 at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 East Main St., Arcola, IL. Burial will be held at a later date in the Tuscola Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

Gayle was born on February 21, 1936 in Crawford County, IL. She was the daughter of Russell M. Guyer and Ruth E. (Hagenson) Guyer. She married Elbert “Ted” Mick on December 4, 1954 in Annapolis, IL. He passed away on July 7,2014.

She is survived by one son, Glen Mick and his wife Julie of Fort Lauderdale, FL, a daughter-in-law, Donna Mick of Plantation, FL, two granddaughters, Erica Mick and Natalie Mick, one brother, R. Warren Guyer of Annapolis, IL, Linda Coale and her husband Jim of Hutsonville, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Stephen Mick and a sister-in-law Patricia Guyer.

Gayle retired in 1997 as a bookkeeper for Tuscola Builders and Concrete Supply Co after 34 years of service. After retiring, Gayle began spending her winters in Florida before making it her home in 2007.

She was a beloved daughter, wife, and mother. She was a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church and an Associate Member of Plantation United Methodist Church.

Gayle loved spending time with those she loved, family and friends, and on her passions, travel, photography, dancing, and playing bridge.
