Butch Janusik
Kenneth “Butch” Janusik, 86 of Tuscola, IL passed away at 12:25 A.M. on Sunday, June 7,2026 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 11, 2026 at the Tuscola United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Inurnment will be in the Bay Pines National Cemetery in Bay Pines, FL at a later date.
Butch was born on July 18, 1939 in Barea, OH, a son of Bernard and Myrtle (Alheim) Janusik. He married Patricia Joan Blaudow on November 4, 1960 in Dunedin, FL.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Janusik of Tuscola, IL, one granddaughter, Lylia Kelley and her husband Ricky of Sunset Beach, NC, two great grandchildren, June and Sunny, and one sister, Lorrie Janusik of Dunedin, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Janice Kay Hunter and Kenneth Dale Janusik, and one sister, Connie Roush.
Butch graduated from Clearwater High School in Clearwater, FL in 1957. Shortly after, he honorably served three years in the Navy as a Class A Boiler Man.
Following his military service, Butch took on his career as a commercial fisherman in Clearwater, FL for 21 years. After commercial fishing, he continued to serve his community by working at the Methodist Church in Dunedin, FL. There he took on roles as a bus driver and maintenance worker. Butch and his wife Pat later managed a bed and breakfast in Southport, NC. In 2006, they moved back to Douglas County, IL where Butch maintained rental properties and helped family and friends as an old school “handyman” who would take on any project asked of him!
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dunedin, FL. Alongside his wife, he enjoyed traveling in their motorhome visiting 49 states over the course of their marriage!
