The 98th Annual Illinois FFA State Convention concluded June 11 in Springfield after three days of leadership development, recognition ceremonies, competitions, and celebrations for members from across the state.
Held at the Bank of Springfield Center, the 2026 convention carried the theme “Sparking Your Future,” drew more than 5,000 FFA members, students, advisors, alumni, and supporters to celebrate achievements in agricultural education and leadership.
Eleven ALAH FFA members attended sessions, heard retiring addresses from each of the State FFA officers, sat in on workshops, and spent a little time together at Scheels. FFA sponsor/Ag Science teacher Hannah Uphoff stated it was such a meaningful week to these students as they met with other members and found inspiration for the coming year.
The ALAH FFA received their Gold ranking for the National Chapter Award which came from all the events and activities their committees hosted this year. Adyson Hopkins was recognized for her State FFA Degree.
Newly elected major state officers for 2026-27 were also announced during the convention. The officer team includes President Bryer Nelson of Canton FFA, Vice President Collin Johnson of Franklin FFA, Secretary Owen Rigg of Williamsfield FFA, Treasurer Lane Perry of Marshall FFA, Sentinel Levi German of Nokomis FFA, and Haven Cash of North Clay FFA.
Convention attendees also celebrated Illinois FFA’s continued success at the national level, highlighted by recent national award winners and strong participation in leadership and career development events.
The annual convention serves as one of the largest youth leadership events in Illinois and highlights the impact of agricultural education programs across the state.
