TUSCOLA— Warrior Pub held a car show back in June and donated some of the money raised to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
According to James Crawford, owner of Warrior Pub, he worked with his manager and area businesses to make the event happen.
“Ashley, the manager, wanted to do something to help Shriners, so she came to me about putting on a car show. So, with the help of the city of Tuscola, Ameren, and all of our sponsors, we were able to pull it off,” Crawford said.
Ameren allowed the car show to use their parking lot, and the city of Tuscola lent barricades to the business to block off a portion of the street for the event.
The bar donated $350 to Shriners, which was raised from entry fees for the car show and a drawing held at the event. Crawford said he feels the event was a success despite other events happening in the area and inclement weather. He has a goal of raising more money next year.
“We’re planning on getting anywhere next year from $600 to $1,000,” Crawford said. He also added he and his staff will begin planning next year’s car show later this year.
