MTZ school board hears enrollment numbers

The Mt. Zion school board met on Tuesday, October 17 and heard the 2023-2024 district school enrollment numbers.

At McGaughey there are 139 kindergarteners and 166 first graders for a total of 305 students. At Mt. Zion grade school has 174 second graders and 175 third graders for a total of 349 students.

At Mt. Zion intermediate, there are 170 fourth graders, 191 fifth graders and 164 sixth graders for a total of 526 students. In the middle school, there are 199 seventh graders and 198 eighth graders for a total of 397 students.

At Mt. Zion high school has 200 freshmen, 213 sophomores, 166 juniors and 179 seniors. There are 758 total students in the high school. District wide enrollment is 2,334 students.

The next Mt. Zion school board meeting will be held on November 21 at 6:30 p.m.
