MAHOMET – The Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond softball team dropped three games to start the 2025 season, but one of them was against Casey-Westfield, the No. 5 team in the Illinois Softball Association Class 1A rankings and a team that was 6-0 through Sunday. The Knights fell to the Lady Warriors 20-3 on March 20 at Casey. The season started with an 8-3 loss to Decatur St. Teresa, wile ALAH dropped its last game on Saturday 15-3 to Mahomet-Seymour, a class 3A team.
ALAH traveled to Newton Monday and hosted Cerro Gordo/Bement in a Lincoln Prairie Conference and play host to Shelbyville Wednesday as the Knights try for their first win.

Mahomet scored at least three runs in each of the four and a half innings, which was called due to the 10-run rule.
With two outs in the second Alayna Plank hit a two-run homer as Layla Deel singled to start the inning. With two outs, Plank hit the first pitch to center for the dinger. Deel led ALAH by going 2-for-3.
Mahomet’s leadoff batter, Kalista Granadino was 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles and three runs batted in.

Casey took control early with an 11-run first inning, but it was ALAH, who took the lead first as Sophie Monts hit a one-out double. With two outs Layla Deel walked and London Dugan singled in Monts and Deel for a 2-0 lead
The final run for the Knights occurred in the second when Mackenzie Condill hit a one-out home run.
Allyson Truelove led Casey’s offense by going 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in the first. She finished with four runs batted in.
Decatur St. Teresa 8,

In what was the closest game so far for ALAH trialed 7-0 after five and a half innings when the Knights scored three runs in the final three innings, but it was too little, too late in the five-run loss.
St. Teresa had a big five-run second, all with two outs and did not include any extra base hits. The Bulldogs added two more in the fourth.
ALAH got two runs in the fifth with two outs as Annabelle Vanausdoll singled; Monts doubled to right and scored on a double by Anna Rawlins to center.
The Knights outhit the Bulldogs 10-7, but left nine runners on base, including five in scoring position.
Rawlins led the way for the Knights, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
