ARTHUR – Friday’s non-conference baseball game between Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond and Central A&M saw the Raiders winning 7-3 after four innings. The Knights sent 11 men to the plate and scored six runs on five hits (all singles) to take a 12-7 lead after six and a half innings. Will Hilligoss pitched the final frame and the Knights won by five. It was their second victory in a row as they shutout Arthur Christian 8-0 last Thursday. The wins occurred after a 5-1 loss to Monticello on March 25.

Central A&M 7
Central A&M, 0-5, were only three outs away from victory, leading 7-6 after six innings before the Knights scored the final six runs.
The seventh started with four consecutive singles by Maddix Stirrett, Cal Binion, Kendall Schrock and Hilligoss as the Knights took the lead for good, 8-7. With one out Lucas Butcher was intentionally walked intentionally and Marcus Otto singled to center, driving in Hilligoss and Kendall Schrock for a 10-7 advantage. Logan Schrock and John Williams walked (forced in Butcher) and Maddix Stirrett drove in Otto with a sacrifice fly.
Butcher and Otto led the ALAH offense as Butcher was 3-for-4 with a double a home run, a stolen base and three runs batted in, while Otto was 3-for-4 with a home run, a stolen base and three runs batted in. Butcher and Otto hit back-to-back homers in the fifth with one out.
The Knights only allowed two earned runs.
ALAH 8, Arthur Christian 0
The Knights scored six runs in the second and the pitching of Max Boddy and Otto allowed the Conquering Riders just two hits with nine strikeouts and four walks as ALAH won easily.
The Knights had six stolen bases, including three by Hilligoss.
The second inning started with a single by Butcher and a walk to Logan Schrock on a full-count pitch. Cal Binion hit the first of two doubles to score both Butcher and Logan Schrock. Stirrett walked and Hilligoss singled to score Binion before the first out occurred. With two outs Kody Burdick singled in Hilligoss for a 6-0 lead.
Arthur Christian threatened in the top of the second with one out when Justin Hostettler reached on a dropped third strike, Reagan. Rademacher walked and Ian Hershberger was hit by a pitch to load the bases when Boddy came through with two strikeouts to end the inning.
