Feagin named to Doak Walker Award watch list
Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond graduate (2023) Kaden Feagin, a running back at the University of Illinois has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2025 Doak Walker Award.

CHAMPAIGN – Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond graduate (2023) Kaden Feagin, a running back at the University of Illinois has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2025 Doak Walker Award.
Feagin is a 6-3, 250 pound junior running back, majoring in recreation, sport and tourism and is from Atwood.
He is also a member of the third team All-Big Ten Athlon Preseason player.
The four-star recruit, who was 6-3, 221 his senior year at ALAH, by ESPN and Rivals played in nine games his freshman year (sidelined due to a shoulder injury) and played in five last year before enduring a hip injury. In 14 games he has 162 carries for
744 yards and five touchdowns. On the receiving end he has 14 receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown.
Illinois is one of 27 programs nationally to feature multiple backs (the other one is Gibson City-Melvin Sibley graduate Aidan Laughery) on the 2025 Doak Walker Award watch list, which includes 103 players.
It is Feagin’s second time he has been on the last as last year he was also on it.
At ALAH, Feagin was a two-time Illinois High School Football Coaches Association All-State player, and as a senior he had 2,300 yards and 37 touchdowns at quarterback and 82 tackles on defense. He had 1,637 rushing and 27 touchdowns as well as 695 passing.
The Doak Walker Award is presented annually to the most outstanding running back in college football. Created in 1989, the award pays homage to Doak Walker, who won the 1948 Heisman Trophy and was a three-time All-American, and it honors student athletes who excel on the field, in the classroom, and throughout the community. The Doak Walker Award recipient is voted on by a national selection committee, analysts, radio sports personalities, former All-Pro and All-American running backs, and past award winners.
