FLAG DISPOSAL CEREMONY

Members of Cerro Gordo American Legion Post #117 along with Legion Auxiliary and Junior members all took part in the flag burning ceremony for the proper disposal of flags held Sunday evening June 14 at the Legion Home. Melissa Bajric, Auxiliary president served as emcee for the ceremony stating it truly is “Old Glory” days as a Pause for the Pledge was observed nationwide coinciding with Flag Day. Candy Dobson, Legion Auxiliary Chaplain gave the invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the National Anthem by those in attendance.  Pictured are Flag burners Danny King and Garry and Garry Zackery performed the flag burning portion of the ceremony after the inspection of the torn flags.
