The Arthur Rotary Club enjoyed listening to Melissa Harden, owner of Studio 51 in Mattoon, discuss her photography business and her new studio last Thursday at Rotary’s lunch meeting. Her corporate clients include Mars Pet Co., Rural King and KC Summers in Mattoon but her studio embraces much more than that. It was her dream to have a beauty salon within her business which allows the client the ability to look their best prior to the shoot. She has taken many senior pictures and catered to exotic requests for background, ranging from a simulated explosion with real fire for one senior to a John Wick reenactment involving a look-alike car and snow plow on an airport runway. Melissa and her son Skylor who is her assistant, have even taken pictures of a client who wanted to dangle off a bridge.
Melissa and Skylor were guests of Rotarian Jerry Winter. An example of Melissa’s work can be seen at the Winter’s Gallery downtown Arthur.
