Arthur, IL — January 2026 — The Hour House BASE Team, in partnership with the Arthur Public Library, announced a new series of recurring after-school workshops designed to support and empower local youth. The workshops will take place twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th Mondays, beginning Jan. 26, and continuing through May 11, from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Arthur Public Library.
These free workshops are open to youth ages 10–19 and focus on creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive space where young people can connect, learn, and grow together. Programming will include hands-on STEM projects, practical life skills, activities that promote healthy eating habits, and opportunities for creativity, teamwork, and personal development.
“Our goal is to Build, Amplify, Support, and Empower youth by providing consistent, engaging programming in a trusted community space,” said representatives from the Hour House BASE Team. “Partnering with the Arthur Public Library allows us to reach young people in a setting that is accessible, supportive, and familiar.”
All supplies for the workshops are provided, and registration is not required, making the program easy for families to attend. Youth are welcome to join at any point throughout the session dates.

Free Winter Workshop
The Hour House BASE Team, in partnership with the Atwood-Hammond Public Library, announced a free Winter Workshop for youth ages 10–19, taking place on Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 4–5:30 p.m. at the Atwood-Hammond Public Library, located at 123 Main St., Atwood.
This workshop will give youth the opportunity to participate in rock painting with a focus on positive affirmations, encouraging creativity, self-expression, and emotional well-being. All supplies will be provided, and no registration is required.
The workshop is designed to create a welcoming and supportive environment where young people can build confidence, connect with peers, and leave with a meaningful keepsake they created themselves.
“This event is about empowering youth through creativity and positive self-talk,” said representatives from the Hour House BASE Team. “We are excited to partner with the Atwood-Hammond Public Library to offer a safe, inclusive space for youth in our community this winter.”
The event is open to all youth ages 10–19 and is completely free to attend. Families and community members are encouraged to help spread the word.
