Floyd E. Dugan Sr. to Celebrate 100th Birthday
The family of Floyd E Dugan Sr. invites his friends and former community members to help celebrate his 100th birthday by sending him a card to celebrate this milestone.
Born March 9, 1926, as one of ten children, Mr. Dugan is a veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict, serving with the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he dedicated 39 years to Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) before retiring.
A staple of the local community, Mr. Dugan is a founder of Cerro Gordo baseball. His lifelong love for sports includes bowling, pitching horseshoes, and cheering for the Fighting Illini and St. Louis Cardinals. Even today, he remains active, often seen riding his three-wheel bicycle.
He was married to the late Dorothy “Dot” Brown for many years following their wedding on Dec. 5, 1946. He is the proud patriarch of a large family, including six children: Nancy (Dick) Marvin of Tolono, Beverly (Don) Lanter of Assumption, Dolores “Dee” (Wayne) Claytor of Sullivan, Jacqueline “Jackie” (Kim) Robertson of Florida, Floyd “Gene” (Pam) Dugan of Decatur and Danny Dugan of Missouri. His legacy continues through 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
