CAPCIL Announces 2026 Piatt Trust Scholarship Recipients
Will Fuson
The Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois (CAPCIL) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Piatt Trust Scholarship. This year, two outstanding graduating seniors have each been awarded a $10,000 scholarship to support their pursuit of higher education: Bailee Wierman of Monticello High School and Will Fuson of Bement High School.
Will Fuson, a graduate of Bement High School, will be attending the University of Illinois to pursue a degree in Business. Growing up in a community with limited resources, Will’s parents taught him the value of financial literacy and the importance of making a positive impact within your community.
Inspired by those lessons, Will chose the field of business and finance with the goal of one day helping individuals and families better navigate their financial futures. He shared that receiving the Piatt Trust Scholarship will help jumpstart his education and move him closer to achieving his dream of using his passion for numbers to help families create new opportunities and lasting legacies.
Bailee Wierman, a graduate of Monticello High School, will be attending the University of Missouri to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences. Bailee discovered her passion for helping others through her role as the eldest daughter in her family and through her work at a local daycare. Her interest in healthcare grew even stronger after participating in Kirby’s HealthCARE Pathways program during her junior year of high school.
Bailee shared that this scholarship will help make her dream of working in the healthcare field a reality while reducing the overall financial burden of college. She looks forward to building a career centered around compassion, care, and service to others.
Both recipients were presented with their scholarship certificates during scheduled awards assemblies held at their respective schools. These students were selected based on their educational goals, personal determination, and commitment to making a difference in their communities.
