Jonas J. Schrock

Jonas J. Schrock, 86 years, 7 months, of Arcola, IL, passed away at 8:30 AM on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, July 27, 2026 at the Elmer Miller residence, 163 North CR 425 East, behind Aikman Wildlife.  Bishop Ervin E. Miller will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Yoder Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2026 and from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Sunday, July 26, 2026, all at the Elmer Miller residence.  The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Jonas was born on December 23, 1939 He is a son of John A. and Elizabeth D. (Yoder) Schrock.  He married Miriam J. Otto on June 11, 1991. They lived in Holy Matrimony 35 years.

Leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, Miriam, two sons, one daughter-in-law, and four daughters, Allen married Linda Miller of Arcola, IL, Glen Ray married Teresa Hardin of West Moreland, TN, Delores married Perry N. Herschberger of Reedsville, WI, Verna Kay married Richard Stutzman of Worthington, IN, Leanna married Kenneth B. Kauffman of Reedsville, WI, Rachel Fern married Duane Miller of Arcola, IL, daughter-in-law, Rosanna married Marcus Herschberger of Fulton, MO, 47 grandchildren, 97 great grandchildren, brother, Ervin J. Schrock of Arthur, IL, three sisters, Susanna Miller of Arcola, IL, Fannie Hostetler of Milton, IA, and Gertie Yoder and her husband Ed of Arthur, IL, and a sister-in-law, Edna Fern Schrock of Arthur, IL.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Amanda D. Kaufman, one son, Gerald Schrock, one grandson, Robert Kauffman, one great grandson, Darius Herschberger, his parents, John and Elizabeth Schrock, and three brothers, Andy Schrock, Reuben Schrock and Joseph Schrock.

Jonas was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
