Mt. Zion celebrates Homecoming week

MT. ZION HOMECOMING COURT. The Mt. Zion High School announced the 2025 Homecoming Court last week. The parade will step-off at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 1 and the Braves will host the Trojans from Charleston at 7:00 Friday evening. The dance and coronation will be held on Saturday, October 4. Mt. Zion High School has a busy week as Homecoming is being celebrated September 29 through October 4. This year’s theme is “Out Of This World”.

The Homecoming Court was announced earlier and includes freshmen attendants Jocelyn Misner and Colin Howley, sophomores Stella King and Sam Toth, juniors Olivia Smeltzer and Ryne Reatherford.

Senior queen candidates include Eloise Comerford, Ella Fink, Lane Renfro, and Kylee Roberts. King candidates are JC Anderson, Koen Elwick, Will Moore, and Tommy Whitley.

Dress up days are Men in Black Monday (dress from the movie), Time Warp Tuesday (dress in an era 70’s, 80’s, etc.), Galactic Glow Wednesday (dress in neon, sparkles, etc.), Class Wars Thursday (seniors/Star Wars, juniors/Aliens, sophomores/Astronauts, and freshmen/Space Jam), and Class Colors Friday (seniors in black, juniors in red, sophomores in grey, and freshmen in white).

The homecoming parade will start at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 1.

Events on Friday include an assembly along with games being played and the announcement of the king and queen. The Braves take on the Charleston Trojans at 7:00 pm that evening.

The Homecoming dance will be held Saturday, October 4 from 8:00-11:00 pm in the big gym with coronation at 9:30 pm.
