Ivan Mulvaney

Ivan Mulvaney, 89, of Arthur, IL passed away at 4:30AM on Friday, May 29, 2026 at his residence.

Ivan was born on March 30, 1937 in Bement, IL. He was the son of Alfred and Leona (Tipsword) Mulvaney. He married Susan Yoder on June 6, 1959 in Arthur, IL.

Ivan attended school in Bement, IL , then started working for Schultz and Howell International Harvester in Arthur, IL in 1957. He set-up/ assembled farm machinery and made farm calls to fix/maintain the equipment. The company had several different owners throughout the years, but Ivan continued working at International Harvester for over 40 years until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Susan of Arthur; his son, John (Betsy) Mulvaney of Tolono; his daughter, Julie (Eric) Mulvaney of Lovington; his grandchildren, Drew (Lindsey) Mulvaney of Tolono, Derek (Kim) Mulvaney of Urbana; his great-grandchildren, Blake Stierwalt and Noah Mulvaney of Tolono, Layla Mulvaney and Sawyer Mulvaney of Urbana; and many nieces and nephews.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph Mulvaney, Harry Mulvaney, Russell Mulvaney, Alva Mulvaney; and sisters, Geraldine Binion, Lorene Mulvaney, Loretta Hale, Velma Cash, and Judy Jones.

Ivan enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming with his family and friends at the cabin. He liked watching his son and grandsons participate in sporting events and spending time with his great-grandchildren. Ivan was a fan of Nascar and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt #3.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Bement Cemetery at a later date. Shrader Funeral Home, Arthur has assisted the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank Transitions Hospice for the care given to Ivan over the past four months. Memorials to honor Ivan may be chosen by the donor.
