Arcola softball holds awards night; Simpson receives Purple Rider Award

ARCOLA – The Arcola softball team, one that finished 4-22 overall and 2-6 in the Lincoln Prairie Conference under first-year coach KayLee Hohlbauch, had its end of the year banquet. Earning the Most Improved Award was Via Gomez, while the pitching award went to Anahi Cooper, who pitched a team-leading 130 ⅓ innings and had 125 strikeouts with an earned run average of 6.39) Maddie Pilkington earned the Silver Slugger Award (hit a team-leading .439 with six doubles and 22 runs scored) while Analia Cooper earned the Gold Glove Award (let the team in fielding percentage at .957) and Ema Simpson earned the Purple Rider Award, which is the Leadership Award.
Earning varsity letters were: Pilkington, Simpson, Anahi Cooper, Analia Cooper, Briseida Condarco, Kayla Lyons, Addyson Williams, Averi Kutz, Tently Thomas and Stevee Griffith.
