Peoples Bank recognizes Dr. Thomas Mulligan as ‘Volunteer of the Quarter’

As a community bank, Peoples Bank & Trust recognizes the value of volunteerism in our communities, the bank said. To recognize, commend, promote, and encourage volunteerism, Peoples Bank & Trust has established a program to recognize outstanding community members for their volunteer efforts to improve our community.
Peoples recognized Dr. Thomas Mulligan, retiring Arcola superintendent, as their “Volunteer of the Quarter” for his dedication of countless hours to improving the community through volunteer leadership. He has served as president of the Arcola Community Economic Development Corporation (ACED), president of the Arcola Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Board of Governors for the Arcola Foundation. Through these and many other organizations, he has helped promote economic growth, strengthen partnerships between local organizations, and support initiatives that improve the quality of life for residents throughout the Arcola area. While these leadership roles are among his most visible, they represent only a portion of the many ways Dr. Mulligan has contributed his time, experience, and leadership to the Arcola community, the bank said.
“Dr. Mulligan’s impact on Arcola reaches far beyond the walls of our schools. His leadership has helped shape our community, strengthen local partnerships, and create opportunities that will benefit Arcola for years to come. We are proud to recognize his dedication and thank him for his many years of service to our community.” said Fredy Moreno, AVP, business banking at Peoples Bank & Trust.
In honor of his services, Peoples Bank & Trust is making a $250 donation to the Arcola Chamber of Commerce. In honor of Dr. Mulligan, his name will be added to a plaque displayed at the bank recognizing past volunteers.
